This is an older view of the original Franklin Sport 4R engine, showing the carburetor and the intake manifolds. Not having a clue how to install an aircraft engine, I studied this and other photos

of the 4R for hours before I dared proceed.  Eventually it flew, after I learned to vent the fuel tank!
