NZ-FEF was built by Jerry Astley and flown in 1979. The only NZ Coot powered by an engine with a constant-speed propeller, it flew faster than the others.  Unfortunately, it received minor damage during a water-landing and was sold to, and repaired by, Alan Coubray.  Later, Martin Farrand bought it and flew it to work in Auckland (off salt water behind his home) almost every day.  It must have become corroded somewhat, because Martin now keeps it as a source of parts.
