Some Coot-builders choose to hide all of the gear linkage and other paraphernalia with sound-absorbing upholstery.  An advantage of this arrangement is that the pilot can glance directly at the gear position indicator attached to the #607 actuator torques tubes behind the passenger seat. Again, note the significant thickness of the rear canopy for absorbing sound.
